100 Themes: Triangle [link]
I didn't want to do something that was obvious and boring. But I didn't want to wander too much off the path. And love triangles are absolutely overused too much. And so I introduce....the Triumvirate! This is the second Roman Triumvirate, Marc Antony, Octavian, and Marcus Aemilius Lepidus. It's kinda longish and it was difficult to scan.
I ended up doing it in two parts. (WHICH I HATE)
Hence the fuzziness in the middle of Lepidus' spear arm. :/
But besides all of this...I rather like them. Marc Antony is extremely egotistical, Octavian needs a smack up the head to cure his snootiness and Lepidus is very rude looking. What a wonderful collection of men to rule Rome for a time...

Sort of sad - there are plays about Julius Caesar and Mark Anthony, and Augustus was a key player in the films on Cleopatra (and the series "I Claudius", where Brian Blessed played him for more than three episodes), and even Marcus Crassus was portrayed by Sir Laurence Olivier in "Spartacus" as a major figure. But Marcus Aemilius Lepidus? He would be the man forced on Anthony and Octavian/Augustus in the second triumvirate, and why? Because when Julius Caesar was assassinated in the Senate, the nearest commander of a loyal (to Caesar) legion was Lepidus, who arrived to keep order and start arresting the Senatorial conspirators. He was not to have the staying power of his fellow leaders Anthony and Octavian/Augustus, but there is evidence he really did not want to. There is the substance for a comic play, even a masterpiece, about unwanted power there.
